Dave Botts
Assistant Director

Hello. I am Dave Botts, serving as your 2021 Assistant Director. My road name is “Mongoose”. That has
been my handle for 50 years. I’ve come a long way from mini bikes in the late 60’s, my first motorcycle
(a Honda 450) in the early 70’s and a Yamaha in the 80’s. Now I ride a black 2019 Heritage Classic 114.
I retired in 2016 and have happily taken up with this gang of Harley desperados. My wife and I have 4
children between us with 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. I think I have the numbers right.
I am looking forward to racking up many miles with the H.O.G.s and will do my best to keep our chapter
one of the best. Let’s ride for the adventure and stay young at heart.

Bob McFarland
Treasurer/Building & Grounds

I have an older Dyna, which I customized after buying a new 2017 Heritage Softail, the last year of the Chrome Classic. I got my 1st motorcycle at 17 and got hooked, but took a break after marrying my high school sweetheart (47 years ago) and raising 4 daughters. After living with five women for years, I got ‘back in’ 24 years ago with my 1st Harley, a Sportster, then the Harleys mentioned above. All while belonging to this GREAT group, RVHOG !

My name is Blake Dingler and I’ll be your Food Coordinator for 2021, with a lot of help from my wife of 24 years, Virginia! My first two-wheeler was a 1974 Honda CB350 that I rode to Sarasota, Fla and back and I’ve been riding ever since. My current bike is a 2015 Ultra Limited Lo. We’re looking forward to a lot of fun and miles with the Best HOG Chapter in the World!

Karen Maxwell
Head Road Captain

Greetings and Happy New Year!  I am excited to be your new Head Road Captain for 2021! We are going to be doing some fun things.  A little about me.....I am a registered nurse.  I have 2 adult children.  I have been riding some sort of motorcycle since I was a kid, riding big twins for about 12 years. I also like to do a little off road with my Yamaha, (Shhhh!).  My favorite pastime is exploring our beautiful country   On my Road Glide with my husband and your Director Randall. Some of my other interest are entertaining, woodworking, reading, gardening and working outside at our cabin in Floyd County.  I served as the LOH Officer for 2020 and I want to thank you for your support. Despite it all, we had a great year!  I have some big shoes to fill in this position, but I look forward to assisting with the planning and execution of your rides in 2021, cause that’s what we are all about, the riding!

Membership Officer

I began riding my own in 2015 on a Honda. In May 2019 after 35k+ miles I traded her in for my Heritage Classic-known as Mz. Nazty. I've already loaded 17k+ miles on her and love every minute of it. I am proud to be a HOG officer and look forward to many more years of riding and serving the best chapter in the whole wide world!

Marian McConnell
Newsletter Editor

I am thrilled and honored to be a part of this wonderful RV-HOG family. I'm the Newsletter Editor and help with Social Media (RV-HOG Facebook page).  I have been an RV-HOG member since 2015. I ride a 2013 HD Softail Deluxe, "Scarlett O'Harley," (we love to be "gone with the wind"). I was the LOH (Ladies of Harley) Director in 2017-2018, and have been the Newsletter Editor since 2019. I worked for the Veterans Affairs (VA) for 39 years (at the Salem VAMC 1989-2014). Then I worked at the Roanoke Rescue Mission 2015-2020. Although I'm officially retired, I'm always busy riding, hiking, caving (we own the famous Murder Hole Cave in Catawba), boating, creating art and making music.  My husband, Dano, is also an RV-HOG member and we love to ride. My mantra is "Focus - Countersteer - Balance" - not just when riding but in every aspect of life.

Dave Courey
Safety Officer

I have been riding since about 1972, and have ridden most brands of motorcycles. I retired 15 years ago, and have enjoyed filling many of my days riding my Harley Davidson. I presently ride a 2018 heritage softtail, and I love it. I joined this chapter in 2011 and am proud of the friends I have made in this the “greatest chapter in the whole wide world”.

Mike "Hulk" Brookman
Webmaster

I grew up racing dirt bikes in my teen years, and my dad always had a Harley at the house. His love for Harleys rubbed off on me and I have been riding street bikes since 2004. I started with a 2003 Fatboy, then moved to a 2011 Street Glide Special, and currently ride a 2018 Road Glide Special.  When I am not riding, I am usually coaching high school football, training athletes in Strength & Conditioning either through the School program which I am in charge of, or through my side business EliteSSP.   I also love to fish or play golf with my son when the busy football season calms down.  I am excited to be a part of this awesome HOG chapter and be able to assist as your Webmaster!
